It uses the GPS or location services on your iPhone or iPad to show you where it is on a map.

Here’s a step by step guide on how to set it up and use it:

Turn Find My iPhone on for your iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Find my iPhone
  2. Tap the slider next to Find My iPhone so that it is green. It is now turned on.
  3. There is a second option below this to Send Last Location. Find My iPhone does not work on a phone that has run out of battery so it is advisable to switch this option on to automatically send your phone’s last location before the battery runs out.
