Tricks you probably didn't know your iPhone earphones could do


Your Apple earpods are so much more than just a device for listening to audio – they can take pictures and even connect to Siri. Here’s why iPhone earphones are more than just music to our ears…

 

 

1 You can take a picture

Plug your iPhone earphones in, position the camera and then press the volume-up button to snap the photo. This is great for taking a selfie or group shot when you need the extra leverage. It’s also good if you’re using a tripod, or need a steady hand and shot.

2 You can manage your calls

Reject incoming call

Just press and hold the Play/Pause button for two seconds until you hear two low beeps. The call will be sent to voicemail.

Answer an incoming call, and end a call

Answer a call by tapping the Play/Pause button. When you’ve ended the call, tap the button once again to hang up. Switch calls If you receive a call while you’re on a another call, press the Play/Pause button once to switch to the next call. Press it again to end the second call and return to the original.

Hang up current call, answer new call

If you’re on a call and you want to end it to pick up another call, hold the Play/Pause button down for two seconds. When you release the button, you’ll hear two low beeps indicating that the original call has been ended and you will be answering the new incoming call.

3 You can activate Siri

Press and hold the Play/Pause button and you’ll activate Siri. You can then use Siri to send a message, make a call, or change the playlist or song you’re listening to.

4 You can manage music with ease

Play or pause

Press the centre button once to start or stop a song.

Rewind

Tap the Play/Pause button three times and hold the control down for the track to skip back.

Skip to next track

Tap the Play/Pause button twice to skip to the beginning of the next track.

Go to previous track

Tap the Play/Pause button three times. Fast-forward through a song Press the centre button once, then press it again and hold it down. Release the button when you’re at the spot you’re looking for.

Adjust the volume

To raise the volume, tap the + button, and to reduce it, tap the – button.
