With just a few weeks left until the end of the year, you’re probably feeling that the only creativity you can muster is to add a filter to your Instagram pic, or a new Apple emoji to your WhatsApp messages.
As we count down to Christmas with our festive gift offerings and specials, we’re here to give you some creative inspiration and motivation to take you to the new year.
For starters, we love what people are doing with their Apple devices in the Start Something New campaign, a global project to encourage everyone to do sensational things with their products. It’s astonishing how many works of art have emerged from creative people using their iPhones, iPads and iMacs, and various iOS apps, and we’re inspired to do just more than just post unedited pics of our coffee and cats on social media.
Some of these works of art have been showcased in exhibition spaces, but if you can’t get Japan, Europe or the US to see them.
Some of our favourite creative works are:
1. “Stay Wild” by Thayer Allyson Gowdy who used an iMac and Final Cut Pro.
2. Photographer Chad Riley used an iPad Air 2 and Burst Mode to create a sequence of photos without cropping, editing or filters.
3.Christian Weber took beautiful images of flowers using an iPhone 6 for a deeper, more layered quality, and VSCO Cam for colour.
